Chapter 52.1 - Forcing her

“What, you’re scared?”

“No,” Lou Lianxin shook her head.

She only felt that her mother was a lot more vicious than her.

If Lou Qingwu really was caught in bed with someone, her reputation would be thoroughly destroyed and she definitely wouldn’t have a chance to recover at all.

Thinking of the grievances she’d suffered these few days and how much she hated Lou Qingwu, she felt that this was getting easier and easier to do.

After all, if she dragged the countess under the water with her, even if the Night Prince wanted to protect Lou Qingwu and wanted to punish someone, the first one on the chopping board would be the countess.

Who cares about them!

Lou Lianxin arrived at the imperial prince’s residence and when she saw the Countess of Chaoxia, she knelt down in front of her.

She hadn’t even spoken but her tears rolled down her face first, “Countes …”

Her hoarse throat and along with the pent up anger over the few days, meant that she looked haggard and frail.

In the countess’ eyes, this was the result of time spent on reflecting her mistakes.

A lot of her original anger disappeared.

She waved her hand for Chun Tao to withdraw and then walked over.

She personally helped Lou Lianxin up, “Lian’er sis, what are you doing?”

Lou Lianxin shook her head and wasn’t willing to get up, “It’s Lian’er’s fault. I shouldn’t have lied to the countess but Lian’er had no other choice. If it wasn’t for that, did I really have to watch Jingsheng be snatched by big sister? Lian’er really had no choice, no choice!”

She cried out as Lou Lianxin’s head hit the icy cold ground, her back was bent.

Her whole body just looked like a weak animal, and looked awfully pitiful.

Her appearance made the countess freeze and thinking of her words, couldn’t help but redden her eyes.

Wasn’t she just like that, scared of brother Ye being snatched away, would she …

They were both suffering from the same pain and so, the rest of the countess’ anger towards Lou Lianxin disappeared completely.

She helped her up again and her eyes reddened as she comforted, “This countess now understands your feelings. The feeling of having the person you love snatched away is really heart wrenching.”

These two days, she felt like something was pressed against her heart and it hurt.

Every time she thought about brother Ye possibly marrying Lou Qingwu, she hated that she couldn't just rush up and use her whip to viciously lash her a hundred times to relieve her anger.

Brother Ye definitely thought that she was a detestable person because she used her whip to lash Lou Qingwu, so he definitely wouldn’t take another look at her!

So what could she do?

Lou Lianxin sneaked a glance at the countess and seeing her downtrodden face, the smile in her mouth grew deeper.

When she put down the handkerchief that she’d been using to dab away her tears, her face returned to being resolute, “Countess, Lianxin definitely won’t let anyone steal Jingsheng away. Even if it’s dying along with big sister, Lianxin definitely has to fight for it!”

“You … what are you going to do?” The countess rubbed at her eyes and looked at Lou Lianxin.

Lou Lianxin’s went silent and uneasily said, “I’m scared, scared that if the countess hears it, you’ll think that Lianxin is too vicious.”

The countess took out a handkerchief to dab at her eyes and looked dazed.

Half a moment passed before she seemed to decide on something and waved her hands, “First say what you’re thinking.”

Lou Lianxin peered at the countess’ face and then said what Ruan Zhen told her to say, “Jingsheng and the Night Prince both like Lou Qingwu, even though they know what happened back then. However, back then, Lou Qingwu didn’t really lose … that thing, so what if, what if she really had something with someone? Then, even if Jingsheng and the Night Prince like her, they wouldn’t be able to accept a sullied woman.”

Once she finished speaking, the countess’ body completely stiffened.

In a second, her eyes spun to stare at Lou Lianxin.

Lou Lianxin’s heart trembled at her stare but still hardened herself and continued, “Countess, if I had a choice between the man I loved and Lou Qingwu, I’d choose Jingsheng. Countess, if you can’t choose like that, then, then just treat it as if Lianxin had never said that. Just wait for the Night Prince to actually marry her and then you …”
