Chapter 54.2 - Confess, confess, confess

Mu Cheng didn’t think that she’d go to get a call and actually run away.

He’d waited for an hour but didn’t see Tang Xiao come back.

Instead, Xia Ziyang came with new clothes.

“What did you do to tang Xiao?” Xia Ziyang opened the door and saw his boss, watching the door like he had something he wanted to say from his heart.

Mu Cheng’s brows furrowed, “Where is she?”

“She left an hour ago with Xiao Lin. Did you guys argue?”

Mu Cheng’s brows furrowed deeper, “Left?”

Xia Ziyang nodded.

He tried to dial her number but he kept getting a busy tone.

Mu Cheng then realised, Tang Xiao didn’t only run away fast in game, she also ran away quickly in real life.

He’d only teased her a bit and she ran away.

He helplessly sighed, “I was just joking with her. Who knew that she’d take it seriously?”

Xia Ziyang looked at him curiously, “What kind of joke would make her run away?”

Mu Cheng pinched his forehead and didn’t reply.

Mu Cheng had always thought that Tang Xiao’s guts were big.

Wanyu Media hosted an annual gala every year and they’d invite famous directors and actors to come, to help their own artists network.

This was the first time that he’d seen Tang Xiao.

She went up on stage and sang a French song, with accurate pronunciation and in a soothing rhythm.

Added with her floor length golden gown and gathered up hair, in this entertainment circle that’s populated with beauties, made Mu Cheng unable to help but look at her  a few times.

Tang Xiao is very beautiful, in particular, her eyes.

There isn’t a second person in the entertainment circle who has eyes as clear and clean as hers.

So that night, Mu Cheng overheard Tang Xiao and Wanyu Media’s boss Chief Ning, arguing.

It was at that time, he’d faintly heard Tang Xiao sneakily use her phone data to pay to play games.

She got caught by Chief Ning and like a little girl, was throwing a tantrum.

Tang Xiao: “Games are good for mental development!”

Chief Ning: “Mental development into a r*tard? Yeah, you are.”

Tang Xiao: “Beast! Shut your mouth!”

Chief Ning: “Say that again.”

Tang Xiao: “QAQ I have short term memory loss.”

In this circle, nearly everybody would develop a persona for themselves, and there were very few people who were like Tang Xiao, very honest.

But, she didn’t seem to have much interest in acting.

From when she entered the entertainment circle, she didn’t have many projects.

But there were a lot of directors and male actors who were willing to partner with her .

Mu Cheng began to occasionally keep tabs on her.

When she swore in game, the Tang Xiao who flirted with girls, was very attractive.

The Tang Xiao who swore she’d f*** your old man, was very attractive.

The Tang Xiao who said she wanted to sleep with Mu Cheng, but also kept asking for death, was also very attractive.

The Tang Xiao who kept being bullied by her dumb husky, was very attractive.

When Mu Cheng had finally realised, he’d already been infected by this tumour called Tang Xiao.

His whole life had been taken over by her.

Every time he went home, he couldn’t help but talk to the dumb husky, “Go see if your master’s had lunch yet.”

The dumb husky was very smart, and ran home to take two looks before barking at Mu Cheng.

He felt like he’d been infected by Tang Xiao, he’d become more silly, talking to a dog.

But he still couldn’t help but give the dumb husky some snacks to give to Tang Xiao.

He felt like he was raising three dogs.

But, what he wanted to do now, was go find the person back again because it seems like she was misunderstanding something.

Mu Cheng called her a few times but still, no one picked up.

He rubbed his aching temples.

In Spirit Road, they asked for their representatives to come out so Tang Xiao ran from Mu Cheng’s room towards B city.

She didn’t pick up her phone, didn’t play games.

When he called Chief Ning, he avoided the topic.

Mu Cheng felt like he was going to go crazy.

On the day of the Spirit Road competition, she finally revealed herself.

She wore a red dress, and her originally pretty face, was even more eye-catching today.

She stood in between the contestants, the flashiest of them all.

Mu Cheng slightly flexed his wrists as he looked at her.

Tang Xiao guiltily avoided his eyes.

Until afterwards, she dodged and hid behind Peach Blossom.

Mu Cheng was about to sustain internal injuries.
