Chapter 58.2 - Anxiety and more anxiety

Tang Xiao sneezed in front of him. “When I came, it was raining. Quickly turn on the aircon.”

Xia Ziyang went downstairs to get them something to eat so Mu Cheng told Tang Xiao to quickly shower first.

After she took a hot shower, her whole body felt more awake.

Tang Xiao quickly changed and came out, just catching Mu Cheng with a bowl of ginger soup.

Tang Xiao normally was too lazy to put on makeup, so when she did, she looked even more glamorous than usual.

But when she didn’t put on makeup, Mu Cheng liked her even more.

She was young, her skin fair and delicate which matched her exquisite facial features.

Maybe she didn’t look as striking as when she had on makeup, but this Tang Xiao was like a slight wind during summer, it held a slight floral fragrance and felt natural.

“First, drink this. Ziyang just ordered food delivery so it might take a while for it to get here.”

Tang Xiao nodded her head.

“Right, when Xia Ziyang comes here, let him help me get another hotel room. When I got out of the taxi, I was too tired.” Tang Xiao sneezed again, her eyes watery and her nose was slightly red.

She curled up on the sofa.

“No need, you can sleep here.” Mu Cheng quickly caught on.

Tang Xiao froze.

The two people faced each other.

Mu Cheng’s eyes weren’t joking at all.

Under the yellow lighting, along with the warmth from the aircon, Tang Xiao’s face suddenly flushed red. “Didn’t Chief Ning tell you to be careful? If you’re not careful, I’ll have some untoward thoughts, and I’ll easily make them happen in real life.”

Just thinking about it, she didn’t feel pure!

Mu Cheng laughed.

He collected the empty bowl from her and then hugged her.

He lifted her up onto his thighs, “What a coincidence, I’ve been having those thoughts about you too. But, before we get approval from your family, I really can’t do anything.”

Actually, his head really did hurt.

He’d started to investigate a bit about Tang Xiao’s family background.

If it really was like what he had found, then it might be a bit troublesome.

Just from seeing Chief Ning, he could already foresee some trouble ahead.

Tang Xiao now could determine that her face was definitely as red as if she’d put blush all over her face.

She stuttered, “I … I …”

She said “I” for half a day but even she didn’t know what she wanted to say.

Mu Cheng watched her as a lip corner curled up, “Disappointed?”

Tang Xiao honestly nodded her head and then shook her head.

After half a moment, she sighed, “It’s originally the same root, so when you cook (do) it, don’t be so impatient.”  

Mu Cheng looked at her smilingly.

Tang Xiao felt like she was about to explode.

She jumped down from his thighs, using her hands in a slicing motion, “I mean cook! Not ‘do’!”

“I know which ‘cook’ you mean, why are you reacting so dramatically? Did you think of something else? En?” Mu Cheng teased her.

Tang Xiao: ….. Ah ah ah ah!!!!!!

That ‘en’ really made her want to start massacre mode, do a murder-suicide!

Come!

Let’s mutually harm each other!

Let’s die together!

Come, let’s cook/do it, why are we so impatient!!!

Mu Cheng happily enjoyed seeing her explode before gentling his tone and coaxing her, “Be good, sit down and don’t move around too much. Let me hold you for a bit longer.”

After he finished speaking, he bit down punishingly on her collarbone.

Tang Xiao’s whole body stiffened.

Mu Cheng held her for another while before finally being satisfied and going off to shower.

The room quietened down again.

Tang Xiao then heard water sounds from the bathroom and just listening to those sounds, Tang Xiao’s overactive mind started to imagine a little scene with Mu Cheng.

The more she thought, the redder her face got.

So it could be concluded, that having an overactive imagination, wasn’t always a good thing.

Suddenly, a phone ringtone sounded.

Tang Xiao was suddenly dragged out of her imagination.

She took a look at the screen, “It’s your mom’s phone.”

The water sounds suddenly stopped. “Help me pick it up, just say I’m showering and for her to wait a bit and then call back>”

Tang Xiao’s whole body turned to stone.

Pick … pick …. up Mu Cheng’s mom’s … phone .. ???

The phone rang again before hanging up.

Tang Xiao suddenly let out a relieved breath.

But it didn’t even take a few seconds before the phone started ringing again.

Tang Xiao’s mind started to get even more anxious.

The other side seemed to be like, if you don’t pick up, I’ll keep calling you.

The Mu Cheng who was showering, couldn’t take it anymore.

He wrapped a towel around his hips and walked out.

He didn’t even towel himself dry as he let water run down his body.

His upper body was clearly divided, his toned and slim body had a clear and beautiful mermaid line.

Water droplets followed that line as they slid down his body, until they disappeared underneath the towel.

Tang Xiao felt like her blood was rising upwards.

She instinctively blocked up her nose.

Her instinct told her, if you get distracted, you’ll easily get a nosebleed.

Mu Cheng picked up the phone in front of her, his eyes filled with laughter.

Tang Xiao very cleverly closed her eyes.

“Mom, I was showering.” Mu Cheng’s tone was a bit helpless.

TL note:

The same root = the ending will be the same, don't fuss. The word for cook is 'jian', it's also a homonym for a more vile word for 'f***' or 'r*pe'. 

Mermaid line = kinda how the male body tapers from a wide chest to a slim waist with abs
