Chapter 16.1 - Betrothal gift




But before Lou Lianxin could finish begging cutely, she heard Lou Qingwu cut her off with an even more pitiful shaking voice, “Little sister, we’re sisters after all. I even considered you one of my closest relations. But even after this, I never blamed you, but who knew you would … you would actually frame me like this …”

As if she couldn’t go on anymore, Lou Qingwu used her handkerchief to cover her eyes, using her shuddering body to show how pitiful she was.

Lou Qufeng became anxious, viciously slapping Lou Lianxin’s face and in a moment, Lou Lianxin’s right side of her face swelled up.

“Daddy?” Lou Lianxin was dumbstruck, completely unable to comprehend that the father who doted on her unconditionally would actually hit her.

Covering her face with her hand, her eyes swelled up with tears immediately.

Lou Qufeng also froze and when he saw Lou Lianxin’s eyes full of tears, softened.

But he was the head of house, so what if he hit her?

And in this case, Lian’er was wrong.

He furrowed his brows and deliberately hardened his face, “Lian’er, do you know what you did wrong??

Liou Lianxin opened her mouth but suddenly, the second madam tugged her.

Then where Lou Qufeng couldn’t see her, viciously glared at Lou Lianxin who then reluctantly repressed her resentment, lowered her eyes and softly replied, “Your daughter knows.”

“Next time, I’ll implement family law!” He warned with no hint of scolding.

Lou Lianxin still felt bitter, biting her lip and softly replied again, “Yes …”

She felt her face as her hand tightened.

For this slap, she’d definitely not let Lou Qingwu off easily!

She slightly lifted her head, signing to a maidservant who then looked at Dong Mei.

She bit her lip hard, Lou Qingwu was still missing a bit if she wanted to win over her place in daddy’s heart!

Imperceptibly, she looked at Dong Mei and nodded her head.

This time for sure, she’d send Lou Qingwu back to the countryside. Then once she leaves the residence, then she’ll get her assassinated on the city’s outskirts.

Once Lian’er becomes the legitimate wife, then she’ll have standing in the Li family, letting him grease some more palms with more nobles.

Thinking it all through, Lou Qufeng’s mood became much better.

He then ordered a few more things before planning to turn around and walk away.

But just as he took a few steps, he suddenly heard Lou Lianxin cry out, “Oh no, I can’t believe it!”

Lou Qufeng turned around and his face darkened, “Lian’er, what now?”
