When she finished speaking, she clapped her hands and footsteps sounding from outside.
A few people came in to the main hall.
The first man wore common clothes but when Zhou Chengtian saw her face, froze, âOfficial Zong Ping, how did you come here?â
The justice departmentâs Zong Ping wiped away the sweat beading at his forehead, forcing laughter, âOfficial Zhou should just think of me as a witness.â
He didnât dare to say anything else..
He didnât dare to say anything else..
He only used the corner of his eyes to sneak a peek at Li Miao before silently lowering his head.
Even though the right prime minister was his superior and he normally wouldnât dare to offend him, the Night Prince was someone he couldnât offend more.
Zong Ping wanted to cry as he stood behind Lou Qingwu.
Behind him, were the justice departmentâs jail guards from that night and just like Zong Ping, they also stood uneasily behind him.
Lou Qingwu saw that everyone had arrived and then looked towards Li Xiangluan, âI believe madam Mu isnât unfamiliar with these people.â
Li Xiangluanâs hands twisted tightly as she looked away, âI donât know what youâre saying.â
âReally?â Lou Qingwu laughed coolly.
Li Xiangluanâs hands twisted tightly as she looked away, âI donât know what youâre saying.â
âReally?â Lou Qingwu laughed coolly.
She curled her lips as she looked at Zong Ping, âOfficial Zong, do speak, who sent Su Sheng over that night?â
Zong Ping wiped away the sweat from his forehead and didnât dare to look at Li Miao at all.
âIt âŠ. It was Li Xiangluan, the madam Mu in front.â
âOh? When she sent her over, did she say anything?â
âOh? When she sent her over, did she say anything?â
âShe, she said, that this person was an assassin who tried to kill official Mu Yunqing and that there was conclusive evidence so we should treat her âwellâ âŠ.â
Zong Ping almost couldnât continue on.
Zong Ping almost couldnât continue on.
He mumbled and tried to gloss over it before deciding to continue, âShe also said that if Su Sheng was stubborn, we could give her some âcolourâ to see if she still wouldnât confess, because we had conclusive evidence. She also said that even if we beat her to death, thereâd be no problems.â
âBeat her to death, and thereâd be ⊠no problems?â
Those nine words were mumbled by someone behind them.
Li Xiangluanâs face suddenly changed.
She turned around to see Mu Yunqingâs eyes that had somehow fell on her, she immediately began shaking her head, âYunqing, listen, listen to me âŠ.â
Mu Yunqing didnât say anything else, he just continued to stare at her, his expression frightening.
Mu Yunqing didnât say anything else, he just continued to stare at her, his expression frightening.
Li Xiangluan then began to feel uneasy.
She suddenly turned to look at Lou Qingwu, âWhat did you do? What is your relation to that woman?!â
Lou Qingwu blew away a strand of her hair off her fingernail, âItâs nothing really. I just canât stand those who do evil deeds to continue living happily.â
âYou!â Li Xiangluan sucked in a deep breath.
Knowing that today, she had Zong Ping as evidence, she wouldnât be able to escape from the offence of having whipped Su Sheng to death.
She tightly shut her eyes and opened them again.
Her eyes cleared.
âOfficial Zhou, even if this officialâs madam told them to give her a bit of a lesson, thatâs all because of my love for my husband. She hurt my husband so I wanted to take revenge for him, is that so wrong?â
At least, that Su Sheng did try to assassinate Yunqing.
Sheâd already admitted to that offence so she couldnât do anything about that.
Lou Qingwu looked at her coldly but didnât say a word.
Zhou Chengtian looked at Lou Qingwu and then back at Li Xiangluan, then to Li Miao.
He felt like his head was full of sweat.
This offence couldnât be described as large, but it wasnât small either.
After all, she did whip someone to death, but that whipped deceased person was a criminal so âŠ.
This was ⊠hard to deal with.
So he decided to change topics, he looked at Lou Qingwu, âThat third offence does have evidence to back it up. But what about the first and second?â
Selling an innocent woman, forcing her into prostitution?
Those crimes were much more serious than the third.
Li Xiangluan laughed coldly inside.
Itâs already been so many years, so if she wanted to find evidence, itâd be even harder than stepping onto the sky!
She really wanted to see how this little left prime ministerâs daughter that wasnât even doted on would be able to do anything!
