Chapter 22.2 - Distorting the truth

“Outfit, what outfit?”

Lou Lianxin began crying even more piteously.

“She’s wearing my grandfather’s sisters outfit, that year’s Lian imperial concubine, was Xi Palace’s imperial concubine. Later when she died, mother was honouring grandfather’s sister’s memory so she asked someone to retrieve an imperially bestowed soft silvery lily gown.

“That vixen!” Countess of Chaoxia was about to go crazy as she viciously glared daggers at Lou Qingwu, could it be that that vixen wanted to go into the palace to be an imperial concubine?

She wanted to rip off her clothes right now.

Actually, it didn’t matter that Lou Qingwu didn’t know what they were saying because she could already guess.

It would probably be about how she bullied Lou Lianxin, how she was poisonous and schemed and harmed her, how she seduced her fiance and how she made her suffer humiliation.

Of course, she definitely mentioned her outfit a few times.

Otherwise, how could she swallow that humiliation of kneeling.

In only a while, the Countess actually did stride towards her.

Lou Qingwu saw Lou Lianxin’s eyes flash mocking from far away and inwardly shook her head.

Ah, little sister, you really were too up yourself.

You should know that there’s a phrase, if you’re too proud, you’ll lose your sense of self.

This was outside the Vermillion Bird gate, and with so many people coming and going, who knows if someone saw her “evil scheme has prevailed” triumphant smile.

As she was thinking, the Countess was already in front of her.

But what caught Lou Qingwu off guard was that the countess actually strode past her without even looking at her.

This made her even more cautious and wary about the countess’ actions.

After all, according to the countess’ personality, she definitely would listen to Lou Lianxin’s words and seek to plot revenge on her.

And she was right.

When the countess walked past her, her leg swept towards Lou Qingwu.

But Lou Qingwu stood still and the countess didn’t.

The countess fell straight forward but what type of person was she, as if she would let herself get the short end of the stick.

As someone who had practised martial arts from a young age, Countess of Chaoxia very quickly stood up straight.

But when she turned around, she raised her hand to slap Lou Qingwu.

But the slap didn’t hit Lou Qingwu’s face like she hoped because

half way, it was caught by someone else.
