When the painting scroll opened up, a picture of a dragon totem appeared before everyone’s eyes, breathtakingly dazzling which caused everyone to gasp in amazement.

The painting showed a dragon soaring above the Nine Heavens, flying above the clouds and extremely vivid, as if a real dragon was about to appear in front of everyone any minute now.

The painting was made of beautiful embroidery using only golden threads, the embroidery so fine and delicate that seemed to even overtake the best palace seamstresses.

Suddenly, another stunning event appeared as the Peony Garden hall’s palace lights suddenly turned off and as everyone gasped, the painting flashed the words “long life” which dazzled everyone.

This really was a breathtaking piece of work.

The palace lights turned on again and the emperor who had seen many impressive gifts, all types of strange oddities and precious treasures, couldn’t help but also be struck with awe at this gift.

His eyes that fell on Lou Lianxin were filled with more appreciation and after Lou Lianxin jumped down to kneel, couldn’t help but continue to look at the painting of the “Dragon soaring in the heavens” that was still suspended in the air.

He curiously asked, “How did the words on the painting that were embroidered in flash light?”

Lou Lianxin looked at everyone’s reaction, her heart full of pride, especially when she saw Li Jingsheng completely struck with awe and dazed.

She then threw a look full of provocation at Lou Qingwu who wasn’t far away before turning around and warmly, gently laughing.

Number one talented girl (第一才女 di yi cai nu) - translated into English, it's a bit awkward but back then, it was really highly regarded if you were equally pretty and talented (才貌两全 cai mao liang quan). By getting that title, LLX can go above her station as concubine born and hopefully marry someone from a higher rank.
