 Chapter 243.1 - Enemies meeting on a narrow road

When Lou Qingwu and Lan Bai reached Jinsi Building, Ye Ji was coincidentally also trying on a new wedding dress. 

It was bright red, making her face look even more bright. 

Besides her, Ruan Zhen also looked on admiringly, using her hands to stroke the dress, “This is gorgeous.” 

If her Lian’er could’ve worn such an exquisite sunset dress and phoenix crown, how glorious would that have been. 

It was only a pity her Lian’er was harmed by that little sl*t Lou Qingwu, and she’d been forcefully divorced. 

So she could only rely on Ye Ji, which made her extremely bitter. 

But speak of the devil and the devil will come, she’d only just looked up before seeing Lou Qingwu appear by the doorway out of the corner of her eye. 

She coldly laughed, “Oh, it’s the future third prince’s consort.” 

Her mocking tone made Lan Bai’s expression darken and just as she was about to say something, Lou Qingwu put out her hand to stop her. 

She emotionlessly looked at Ruan Zhen’s jealous face and ignored her, passing her by to walk to Jinsi Building. 

Ye Ji heard Ruan Zhen’s voice and looked at Lou Qingwu, lowering her eyes to look at the new wedding dress on herself. 

Immediately, her lips turned up into a cruel smile as she picked up her dress and walked towards Lou Qingwu. 

When she reached her, she twirled in front of her, “Sister Wu, you’re here too, do you think this dress looks good?” 

Lou Qingwu stopped and looked at her, “En, it looks really good.” 

“Aiyo, sister Wu, if you say it like that, I’m a bit embarrassed. Sister Wu is the one who’s the prettiest in the whole capital, so whatever you wear looks good. Originally, this type of dress which is the treasure of Jinsi Building should’ve been given to a beauty like sister Wu but it’s such a pity that I’m wearing it inside. I really do feel bad. I really didn’t know that sister Wu would be buying your wedding dress here too. It’s only because brother Ye dotes on me so he wanted me to buy my dress from here too because it’s the best store. If I knew that sister Wu also wanted it, I definitely wouldn’t have listened to brother Ye.” Ye Ji’s tone made her sound extremely familiar with Feng Yege, which made Lou Qingwu’s brows furrow. 

She shot her a slightly cold look and then calmly said, “Miss Ye, you think too much. If you like this wedding dress, then you can have it.” 

Ye Ji was unhappy she didn’t get the reaction she wanted from Lou Qingwu, her mouth jerked into a smile and then moved to the side. 

She really did want to see exactly what kind of nice wedding dress Lou Qingwu would be able to choose. 

The left prime minister was notoriously stingy and as a rural bumpkin who hadn’t been in the capital for that long, exactly how would she be able to come up with enough money to buy anything from Jinsi building? 

Without waiting for her to finish, the mysterious number one Jinsi building’s shopkeeper personally came out. 

Ye Ji’s eyes lit up and rushed over. 

She wanted to wear the newest set of jewellery when she got married. 

Originally, the store assistants said it’d already been sold but if she had enough money and asked Shopkeeper Jin politely, the shopkeeper would definitely look upon her countess identity as well as brother Ye’s identity as the Night Prince to sell it to her instead. 

“Shopkeeper Jin …” Ye Ji wore the wedding dress and walked over. 

Shopkeeper Jin suddenly got stopped and her brows furrowed before walking past Ye Ji to see Lou Qingwu, who was sipping her tea. 

She then turned to look at Ye Ji, “This miss is?” 

“She’s the future Night Princess!” Ruan Zhen loudly spoke out, as if she wanted the whole shop to hear. 

Instantly, everyone’s eyes turned to her. 

Ye Ji raised her head, even more proud and she was even more determined to get the newly released jewellery set. 

Shopkeeper Jin looked at Ye Ji and then Lou Qingwu before half-jokingly saying, “So it’s the future Night Princess. It’s my fault, I really couldn’t tell.” 

Originally, the words themselves didn’t seem like much, but with that tone, Ye Ji felt it sounded a bit strange. 

But she was more anxious about that jewellery set and so didn’t think too much about it. 

She was about to marry brother Ye so she definitely had to be much prettier than Lou Qingwu for her big day! 

“Is the Countess after something from me?”
