Chapter 214.2 - Heart beating faster
If she was the empress dowager and saw that the child she had been raising so carefully, was suddenly being sullied by a girl with an awful reputation, she wouldn’t feel well either.
But the words reached her mouth before she silently swallowed them back down again.
If it was impossible, it was better for these things to be left unsaid.
“The Night Prince is considerate but Qingwu suffered this punishment for you so this is something you should provide. So I won’t be courteous.” She held the medicinal bottle in her hand tightly as she quickly jumped off the carriage.
Seeing the girl flare up to be as prickly as a hedgehog, Feng Yege rubbed his forehead.
But his mood was still great.
Junior sister, if you were really that heartless, why would you borrow your shoulder for him to rest his head on, just because he said one phrase about being tired?
Lou Qingwu walked for a while before stopping.
Her ears twitched as she heard the sound of the carriage slowly disappear, then she let out a breath.
Lan Bai quickly followed and when she saw Lou Qingwu silently holding a medicinal bottle, she froze, “Master, did someone get injured?”
“This isn’t injury medicine, it’s to help with circulation for bruises.” Lou Qingwu explained but didn’t say who it was for.
When the two people reached the Leaning Wind Pavilion side wing, the room’s lights were already lit up and bright.
Then two people walked out.
When Lou Qingwu and Lan Bai saw the person behind Thousand Face, they both froze visibly.
It was Little Bell - Su Sheng’s little maidservant.
“You …” Lou Qingwu didn’t know why she suddenly appeared here but when the words slipped out, she suddenly realised.
If Little Bell came to find her, then Su Sheng was probably …
“Miss Lou, miss has … she’s already …” Indeed, in the next moment, Little Bell dropped to her knees in front of Lou Qingwu.
Her hands tightly gripped a black coloured bag and inside the bag, was a box.
The box most likely contained Su Sheng’s cremated remains.
Lou Qingwu sighed, supporting her up as her eyes fell on her face.
She patted her back, “What happened? Why did you bring her remains to the capital?”
Little Bell’s eyes were filled with tears, “Miss still couldn’t forget gentleman Mu, even in death so she hoped that I could bring her remains here and she hoped that Miss Lou could send them to Puzhao temple. She hoped that there could be an altar lamp burning day and night so that every day she could see … see …” Little Bell seemed like she couldn’t go on, sobbing as her tears fell on the box.
Lou Qingwu closed her eyes, Su Sheng ended up regretting it in the end after all.
After ordering Thousand Face to settle Little Bell in a side wing, Lou Qingwu held Su Sheng’s remains and walked into her room.
She carefully wiped away the dust on top of the box and placed it with the black box she had on her window sill.
She stood there, watching it, for a long time before telling Lan Bai to get her hot water for a bath.
After she bathed, Lou Qingwu put on her clothes and sat by her bedside.
She lifted up her skirt and revealed a pair of thin and long legs.
Her kneecaps were completely blue and purple.
She took out the medicinal bottle and started to slowly massage it, the cold medicinal ointment entered into her skin as the pain from her knees slowly subsided.
When she finished putting on the ointment, Lou Qingwu put away the medicinal bottle into her medicinal trunk.
But in the final moment when she was about to close the trunk, she hesitated.
Little Bell’s appearance, made her originally resolved heart waver.
Su Sheng and Mu Yunqing, from now on, were completely separated by the sky.
Su Sheng held regrets before her death.
When Feng Yege sent her back to the Lou residence, his sickly pale face was a constant triggering reminder in her mind.
She was scared that she’d also have regrets one day.
But if she didn’t do that …
Her eyes fell on the black box before slowly sucking in a deep breath, closing her eyes.
When she opened her eyes again, they were cold.
She’d already reached this point, where she seemingly had no room for regrets.
It didn’t matter if there was a mountain of knives ahead, or a sea of fire, she would continue forward.

DeleteSu Sheng and Mu Yunqing didn't meet each other? I guess the world is that big that they could avoid meeting each other in the same town. Such a sad ending for this couple who truly loved each other.
ReplyDeleteSu Sheng left after Mu Yunqing's psycho wife nearly killed her, I think she faked her death which is why they had the funeral ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Although I'm mildly worried that FY is going to enjoy being mistreated before this is over....

Feng Yege is lowkey a masochist - but really, he's just happy for any bone that LQW throws his way.

I really hope in this novel LQW doesn't end up with the third prince. There really should be some other way aside marrying to get her revenge. Sigh. I wish she would trust FYG and team up to eliminate the enemy. But alas wishes are simply not horses
