Chapter 68.2 - Phoenix tail mask

They immediately respectfully pushed open the door, “This gentleman, please enter!”

The masked man lazily placed the jade pendant back in his waistband, shrugged his shoulders, threw his head back and laughed loudly before walking in.

Behind him, Nie Zhen’er’s face became even uglier as she saw the masked man pull out a black jade pendant.

So when she heard that laughter, she felt it was even more grating to her ears.

But in fear of what the guards’ just said, she restrained herself.

The strange looks from all four directions made her want to turn around and leave but thinking of that item that she wanted, even in her dreams, she tried to bear it as she walked to the guards.

She passed out the silver jade pendant to the guards as they snorted, “Go inside.”

This clearly different attitude made Nie Zhen’er’s eyes widen, “You!”

“What? You don’t wanna enter? Then, next!”

“Who said this miss doesn’t want to enter?” She bared her teeth and stared at him before her maid servant quickly pulled her to tuck her tail between her legs and walk in, dejected.

But just as they stepped inside, they saw the auction scene and stopped, completely shocked.

She saw the whole auction marketplace was like a grand and luxurious palace, every single piece of stone was made from black obsidian.

As she looked around, it gave off a stunning impression all around.

In the very center, there was an elevated stage which was made of pure white jade stone, like congealed fat, which reflected black.

Black and white made everyone unable to pull their eyes away.

All around, men and women walked around and they all wore masks.

They all looked exceptionally noble and dignified, some with a lazy roguish aura and some with a casual long robe.

However, if any of those people revealed their identities, it would definitely make people shudder three times.

Nie Zhen’er thought of the girl who she’d just mocked and the black jade pendant in her hands as her face became pale.

But thinking about her attitude just then made the resentment win over fear in her heart.

How could it be such a coincidence that she’d bump into someone with such a high status.

Didn’t she bring a maidservant by her side too?

That girl wore a maid servant's clothing, so at most, she was just an official’s maid servant.

Wasn’t that just a servant?

So even if she did punish her, what about it?

Thinking it through like that, Nie Zhen’er calmed herself down a lot.

She proudly lifted up her head and then stepped forward, right until she came to a seat and sat down.

Lou Qingwu had also been in awe of the palace setting when she’d walked in, but she also calmed down quickly afterwards.

She didn’t forget her aim in coming here, it was for Su Yi’s painting and Youli sword.

Apart from that, she didn’t care for anything else.

However, even if she wanted to lay low, there would always be people who wouldn’t let her lay low.

Nie Zhen’er sat in front of Lou Qingwu and purposely straightened her back, setting her head up high to block Lou Qingwu’s eyes.

Seeing her purposely provocative figure and thinking of that foot at the entrance, Lou Qingwu menacingly narrowed her eyes.

But she didn’t move, she didn’t leave and didn’t say anything.

If she changed seats now, Nie Zhen’er would think that she was scared of her.

But letting a little duke’s daughter throw tantrums in front of her, again and again, without giving her a little taste, would be too unforgivable to herself.

Her eyes fell on the hairpins in Nie Zhen’er’s head as Lou Qingwu lazily narrowed her eyes, like a fox.

Lazy and sly like a fox, but she was still enticing.

And there was one, who had been seduced by her.

The masked man’s eyes fell on Lou Qingwu’s side profile before slightly moving away, coincidentally meeting her a mischievous look in her eyes.

The light from the obsidian in all directions reflected in her eyes, like a precious pearl.

It charmed a person’s heart, an eye that would surpass tens of thousands of years.

His mouth playfully curled as his long legs stepped forward in her direction.

He carelessly sat in front of Lou Qingwu as his long legs lifted up, roguishly like a hoodlum as they crossed on the seat in front of him.
