Chapter 69.2 - Two birds flying together

Shopkeeper Jin saw and nodded before soundlessly, moved her eyes away.

“This is Jinsi building’s newest jewelry set for this year, called “two birds flying together”, the starting price is 1000 silver taels, the auction -- begins now!”

After shopkeeper Jin finished speaking, the Nie Zhen’er in front of Lou Qingwu, immediately shouted, “2000 silver taels!”

She’d waited for so long and finally, no matter what, she’d definitely get that “two birds flying together” set for herself!

In a few days, when she’d enter the palace, she definitely had to be the brightest and most outstanding girl of all the other noble girls!

Lou Qingwu heard Nie Zhen’er’s incredibly excited voice and coldly smiled.

Then no one dared to bid against her.

Even though the number one JInsi building's jewelry pieces were intricately carved and hard to find with thousands of gold; twenty thousand taels for a single jewelry set was too expensive.

Furthermore, this was only the first piece being auctioned so they weren’t anxious.

So if no one bidded against Nie Zhen’er, she’d most likely be able to easily get the “two birds flying together” set.

But of course, there is always the unexpected.

Lou Qingwu watched Nie Zhen’er’s determined face and need to want - at any cost and curved her mouth.

Lou Qingwu: “You can try.”

Nie Zhen’er gripped her handkerchief, trying to decipher whether or not she spoke the truth.

If she really could take out so much money and she gave up, wouldn’t she just be basically giving up “two birds flying together” to her too easily?

Giving side to a lowly and cheap maid?

Wouldn’t that be hitting her own face?

No!

She definitely wouldn’t let that happen.

She sucked in a deep breath, straightened her back and derisively continued to shout, “This miss will bid twenty two thousand taels.”

Lou Qingwu’s calm eyes lifted up, “Twenty three thousand taels.”
