That damn daughter was a countess right now, so he had to find evidence before punishing her!

The doctor first took a look at the brocade before slowly moving over.
His expression was strange but Lou Qufeng kept thinking about how to dig up evidence against Lou Qingwu so he didn’t notice.
His face was fuming.
“That …” The doctor flipped the brocade over and over before leaning closer and sniffing it.
His expression suddenly changed.
“Did you discover something?” Lou Qufeng stared straight at the doctor.
“That, this old doctor doesn’t …” The old doctor seemed to be scared of something as he hesitated, before waving his hands.
“Prime minister, you should find another skilled doctor, this old doctor’s knowledge is lacking, I’ll first leave, I’ll first leave!”
Lou Qufeng heard this and immediately knew that there was a problem with the brocade.
He grabbed onto the doctor.
“Old doctor, speak! Whatever you say, this old man will protect you!” After he finished speaking, he glared spitefully at Lou Qingwu.
Lan Bai was so angry she was about to jump him but Lou Qingwu pulled her back.
Instead, Lou Qingwu smiled at Lou Qufeng, making him feel even more uneasy and suspicious.
The doctor hesitated for a bit before finally seeming to decide on something.
He spoke in a small voice, “This old doctor is just guessing so it might not be accurate, but this does smell like the juice from the ‘no sons’ grass …”
“Are you sure?” Lou Qufeng’s face darkened even more.
“This old doctor doesn’t dare to swear. Prime minister should know that ever since the consort Ying in the palace lost her child because of this ‘no sons grass’, the emperor personally found people to copy and draw the ‘no sons grass’ and spread it to everyone. His meaning is that he wanted no one to ever be harmed from it and because it’s not common, we, common people, have never really seen it …”
“But you can’t confirm it’s not?” Lou Qufeng heard that it wasn’t common as his brows furrowed deeply together.
After all, it was Lou Qingwu who first mentioned that the ‘no sons’ grass was something that could cause a miscarriage.
And right now, that grass appeared again.
If she said she had nothing to do with it, he wouldn’t believe her!
After speaking, he turned to Lou Qingwu, “What else do you have to say for yourself?”
Lou Qingwu looked at him coldly, “Father, why are you so sure it’s me?”
“You gifted the brocade, the ‘no sons’ grass isn’t commonly found either!” His tone was mocking, making Lou Qingwu’s brows knit together.
“It isn’t commonly found, but if I wanted to harm the fourth madam, I wouldn’t wait until now. After all, I could’ve not bothered with hre last time. Then her unborn child still would’ve died.”
“You just want people to think that you’re good, pretending that you’re repaying revenge with virtue! Who knew that you were so poisonous inside!” Lou Yun’er was the first to shout at her.
Originally, she thought she was wrong but now, she only hated she couldn’t rip a piece of meat off of Lou Qingwu.
“Poisonous inside?” Lou Qingwu laughed, narrowing her eyes at Lou Yun’er. “If I was as poisonous as you say, then when you first tried to hurt Lan Bai, I wouldn’t have let you go!”
“Who knows what your heart is thinking! I don’t care! Father, you have to take revenge for little brother!”

... Considering the smarts she has and the company she keeps..... I'd take her pretty seriously, unless he doesn't know she's playing around with Xiahou Qing which would be a huge oversight on Lou Oufeng's part.

There were rumours of her being close with Feng Yege and now she has rumours between her and the second and third prince. She just sounds like a flirt (optimistic opinion).
DeleteInstead of thinking positively of her sticking around Xiahou Qing, it just sounds like she's trying her hardest to get into his pants, tending to him when he's sick and whatnot. It'd be hard for an old traditional man like Lou Qufeng to think of LQW as equal to Xiahou Qing, he's a total chauvinist pig 🔪🔪
