Chapter 64.3 - The child's father isn't me 3

Mu Cheng decided to drive her there but when he opened the door, he saw Mu Jin standing in front of his door, her face hesitant.

“What are you doing here?”

“Ah? Why did you come you come out from this door? Chief Ning told me to pick you up.” Mu Jin looked at the two doors.

Tang Xiao rubbed her nose.

It’s not like she could say she slept with Mu Cheng last night.

She changed the topic, “What happened to Xiao Lin?”

“Chief Ning said that she’s busy so I’ll be your assistant for the next few days. Right, there’s also something else I need to talk to you about. Prepare yourself.” Mu Jin sucked in a deep breath.

This made Tang Xiao anxious for some reason.

Mu Jin’s face was serious. “You have become pregnant.”

Tang Xiao: ….????

What do you mean, become pregnant??? Become pregnant??

Tang Xiao instinctively turned around to face Mu Cheng.

Mu Jin then saw Mu Cheng, her face shocked, “My god, you slept together last night. Does that mean you’re really pregnant?”

“Wait, what do you mean ‘become pregnant’?” Tang Xiao pinched her forehead.

“Ah, just what the words mean. You’re not pregnant but someone else is pregnant.”

Someone else?

Tang Xiao’s eyes moved to Mu Cheng’s stomach as she thought.

She started to wonder if somehow, without her knowledge, she’d slept with Mu Cheng.

Otherwise, how could they just innocently be sleeping next to each other under the same blanket, and the second day, he was pregnant?

“F****! Mu Cheng, you’re pregnant! Alright! That’s too strong!” Tang Xiao’s words didn’t pass through her brain as they jumped out.

Mu Cheng’s eyes grew helpless. “Tang Xiao, delete that useless stuff in your mind right now.”

“Mu Cheng can become pregnant?” Mu Jin’s eyes were wide as she looked, shocked, at Mu Cheng’s stomach.

Mu Cheng: …. It’s really not easy for Chief Ning, to actually find two people with bad brains like this.

“You’re both about to be late.”

Mu Jin didn’t care for that, she quickly dragged Tang Xiao and ran.

“On the way, Chief Ning called Tang Xiao and ordered her to do a few things.

“Is Xiao Lin pregnant?” Tang Xiao then regained her senses as she asked.

Chief Ning paused. “We’re not sure but I’m going to take her to the hospital for a checkup. Yesterday, when Xiao Lin left the pharmacy, a reporter caught her. They thought you were pregnant so when you see the reporters, respond accordingly.”

“This blame came out of nowhere.”

Even though the Third Gender was growing popular, there weren’t a lot of reporters who came to see the set.

Sometimes, there’d be one or two.

But who knew that this morning, there’d be a whole crowd of reporters.

As they saw Tang Xiao step out of the van, they swarmed her instantly.

“My god, I feel like if I do get pregnant one day, the happiest person won’t be me but the media.” Tang Xiao watched the reporters as she wanted to cry but she had no tears.

“Or maybe it might be Mu Cheng?” Mu Jin said.

This phrase made Tang Xiao happy.

Her eyes nearly didn’t write --- “Bestow this person well for this emperor!”

“Open the door! When we get back, tell Chief Ning to give you a bonus!”

Once the door was opened, the lights from the cameras kept flashing in her face.

“Tang Xiao, Tang Xiao, who’s the baby’s father?”

“Tang Xiao, I heard you were pregnant, can you reveal how long it’s been?”

….

Mu Jin tried her hardest to push the people away. “Sorry, our Tang Xiao isn’t pregnant. Thank you everybody. You all probably haven’t eaten yet so Tang Xiao’s prepared some snacks. In a while, the workers will give them to you. It’s been hard on you all.”

TL note:

You have become pregnant - the Chinese is weird because it’s not “you’re pregnant” but you have become pregnant, like something has made her pregnant. That’s why the phrasing is a bit weird.


I'm reading this story and nearly spat out my water. It said the female lead had an ambiguous/romantic relationship with a 'turtle' which made the male lead go crazy and kill them all .... but it turns out it was a typo and the guy's name was "hai gui" which is a synonym for turtle, 'hai gui'.
