Chapter 144.1 - Incredibly angry
Ye Ji went from the Night Prince’s residence to the third prince’s residence, her heart still full of regret that she wasn’t able to see her brother Ye.
When she returned to her room, she saw Xiahou Qing with a heavy expression inside.
Her brows furrowed together, “What kind of expression is this?”
“You’re asking me what kind of expression? Where did you just go?!” Xiahou Qing’s hands slammed against the table, his sinister expression was obvious to Ye Ji who was half a room away from him.
“What? Brother Ye was injured so of course I’d go to Hundred Fortunes building to go prepare a ginseng soup that would help him heal faster.”
She was scared that the workers would slack off and not put in enough so she even spent a good few hours at the restaurant, watching the soup for hours on end.
When she felt that Xiahou Qing’s emotions weren’t right, Ye Ji had already stepped inside and she suddenly felt that Xiahou Qing’s temper was getting worse.
“Shangguan Yiyun’s affair, what did you promise me?”
“I already told Fei Ye to organise the two people and even gave them an aphrodisiac in that room. As long as Li Jingsheng encouraged his cousin Fan Yi to go rush inside, then Shangguan Yiyun and her adulterous zither teacher’s affair would be exposed. Xiahou Rui’s face would definitely be lost!” Ye Ji’s beautiful face was filled with pride, she was extremely confident in her plan.
“Hmph!” Xiahou Qing looked at her coldly, “You really are conceited, do you know what happened at the tea house today?””
“What could happen?” Ye Ji spilled over the chair next to Xiahou Qing, languidly posing as she looked at Xiahou Qing confusedly.
“The person that Shangguan Yiyun was supposed to have met was swapped.” Xiahou Qing sucked in a deep breath to force himself to calm down.
But even after calming down, he knew that there was probably someone behind today’s affair.
Otherwise, how could such a flawless plan be found out?
Also, what kind of person was Ye Ji, how could something just happen like that?
“En?” Ye Ji jumped up, “Swapped with who?”
“Changle Lane’s Yue Ji.”
“Impossible!” Ye Ji immediately denied it. “Fei Ye’s been with Shangguan Yiyun for so long, and she didn’t know she’s had any connections with Changle Lane. She’s an official’s miss, the type that wouldn’t even leave her house on a good day, how could she know someone from Changle Lane?”
“But that Yue Ji did appear and sent Fan Yi over to the justice department, he’s currently sitting inside right now.”
He was afraid that the Li family were going to have some turbulent times ahead.
Originally, Fan Yi’s role could be called important or unimportant, depending on how you looked at it.
It didn’t have to be Fan Yi but Li Jingsheng didn’t like Fan Yi so he wanted to use this affair to teach him a lesson.
He’d originally planned on Shangguan Yiyun’s cheating affair suppressing the crime of flirting with the future second prince’s consort but because Shangguan Yiyun didn’t get caught, then his crime would sit on him tight.
Now, Fan Yi’s affair, would be spread out and the Li family would become a mess, that wouldn’t be beneficial to him at all.
“How did it turn out like this …” Ye Ji slumped back into her chair, defeated.
She was still confused, “But why did that Yue Ji help Shangguan Yiyun? Could she be the second prince’s person?”
“No way!” Xiahou Qing immediately ruled that out.
They hadn’t found out who was behind Changle Lane but it definitely wasn’t someone who was simple.
If there was someone like that helping his second brother, he would’ve been the crown prince already!
“Then what do we do now?”
“What can we do? We need to solve Fan Yi’s affair first and quickly find out who’s behind Changle Lane.”
“I’ll … try my best.” Ye Ji’s expression grew bad as she hesitated before looking towards Xiahou Qing, “What do we do afterwards though? If this plan failed, Xiahou Rui will still marry Shangguan Yiyun and that would be a huge marriage. Then the emperor won’t have an excuse to deny his position as the crown prince. Once he’s the crown prince, it’ll be even harder to pull him down.”
“Do you think I don’t know that?” Xiahou Qing’s mood was gloomy again.
“Do you think I don’t know that?” Xiahou Qing’s mood was gloomy again.

ReplyDeleteTo be fair Ye Ji's planning did work out, it's only due to outside forces that it failed.
Hopefully this doesn't mean that future Xiahou Qing plans will be more desperate and/or physical, i.e rather than just controlling and creating a scandal, let's just kill instead.
On the upside, it sure looks like LQW has no intention of allowing the marriage to go through anyway so I suppose that's additional planning that is somewhat unnecessary.
I am betting on another fake death with the fault on someone that needs to be gotten rid of. Death is the only way to achieve a clean break for Shangguan Yiyun.
DeleteSeems pretty likely now that you mention it, doesn't seem like there's any other way for Shangguan Yiyun to get away from her princess consort title.
