Chapter 202.2 - A small punishment as a deterrent

He took another look at her, rubbing his chin.

He thought, this man really was beautiful. It’s just a pity that he’s a man because he really was a beauty.

Lou Qingwu seemed to not have noticed the other man’s measuring eyes, “Meeting together is a form of fate, how do I greet this gentleman?”

The man’s eyes flashed interestedly, this was a man who was clever. He was much more interesting than the cold faced general next to him.

He waved a hand as his subordinates also left, before smiling at her, “Xiao Mubai.”

“So it is gentleman Xiao, apologies for before.”

“It was my fault, but this gentleman’s zither skills really are top-notch. It’s much better than Changle Lane’s Miss Yue Ji.” Saying this, he suddenly turned around and shouted back to his leisure boat, “Miss Yue Ji, don’t you say?”

Leng Yichen and Lou Qingwu’s eyes narrowed, Yue Ji was here too?

Indeed, after the man finished speaking, they watched the leisure boat move closer.

The man happily took the glass and just as he was about to drink it, another person in black suddenly appeared from somewhere and stopped him.

He took out a silver needle and tested the wine before sniffing it.

After checking for poison, he then let Xiao Mubai drink.

Xiao Mubai seemed to have already been used to the other person’s actions so he didn’t explain to Lou Qingwu before drinking it all in a single gulp.

Then he knocked his glass against Lou Qingwu’s.

Lou Qingwu then drank it all in a single gulp too.

Xiao Mubai then left with Yue Ji.

When Yue Ji returned to the other leisure boat, she suddenly turned around to look at the two people, giving them a look.

When their leisure boat returned to normal, Lou Qingwu then slowly walked towards a table.

She naturally poured out another glass of wine.

Leng Yichen took the wine from her hand, his face still stiff, “Didn’t you say you were injured?”

“It’s just a small injury, rice wine is fine.”

“Did you poison him?”

“Of course.”

“But his subordinate couldn’t tell.”

Lou Qingwu gave him a look, “Do you really think a normal person could detect a poison that I concocted?”

Her lips curled into a smile as her eyes flashed secretively.
