TFDC Chapter 206.2

Chapter 206.2 - It’s an ugly person

The night pearls all around her shone and cast a soft light on her, making her look even more gentle than usual.

“Qingwu, why are you wearing a facial veil?”

The emperor felt the atmosphere was a bit too cold so he tried to find a conversation topic.

“Reporting to the emperor, subject-girl ate something wrong and red patches suddenly appeared on my face. Scared that I’d scare people, I wore a facial veil.”

“Are you sure it’s not just because you’re ugly?” A small voice grumbled behind Shu Yunyan.

The voice was very low but Lou Qingwu’s sharp ears heard him as she looked up to see him.

She saw the speaker was Xiliang Mubai dressed up as a servant, leaning languidly behind Shu Yunyan, his face filled with contempt.

She watched him for a moment before moving her eyes away.

Xiliang Mubai caught her eyes and his body suddenly stiffened.

Did he see wrongly?

Did that woman just sneer at him?

But thinking it through, he thought it wasn’t right.

She shouldn’t know him … him … he suddenly grew humiliated and angry as he glared at Lou Qingwu.

Seeing her lowered and gentle eyes, she couldn’t have known about his little secret.

He turned away from her.

“Do you need an imperial doctor to take a look for you?” The emperor heard this and revealed a benevolent smile.

If Lou Qingwu didn’t know that he was scheming against Su Gelao behind her back, she probably would think he was a benevolent and moral emperor.

But as someone born in the royal family, how could his hands not be a bit bloody?

Her heart thought one thing but what she said out loud was completely different.

Lou Qingwu’s expression was perfectly composed, her watery eyes filled with excitement before she shook her head hard, “No need, thank the emperor for your concern but it’s nothing big. I can cope with it.”

“Then that’s good.” The emperor answered lightly.

Liu Jin had already come back.

In his hands, a tray was covered with red cloth, not revealing what was underneath.

When he reached Lou QIngwu, he passed the tray to her.

Lou Qingwu took it and thanked him.

Liu Jin was taken aback before waving his hands, returning back to the emperor’s side.

The emperor leaned over and asked a few questions.

When Liu Jin answered, the emperor’s eyes were astonished.

Looking at Lou Qingwu, he didn’t know why Lou Qingwu needed those things to break open the Thousand Year Old Black Iron lock.

Lou Qingwu took the two things and turned around.

Firstly, she put them to the side and crouched down near the box.

She lifted up the red cloth to reveal what was inside.

Everyone couldn’t help but crane their necks to take a peek at what was on the tray.

When they saw what it was, their faces grew strange, they didn’t understand why the Countess of Rende wanted to use that ordinary looking graphite stones and that black dirt?

Lou Qingwu didn’t explain either as she started to finely grind the graphite stone.

Not too long later, fine powder started to fall down and form a small pile.

Seeing that she was nearly there, she took the dry and cracked piece of dark looking clay like dirt, and started to grind iti down to a powder as well.

When the two powders formed small piles, Lou Qingwu mixed them together before pouring it onto a piece of fine writing paper.

TL note:

Graphite is used to lubricate locks.
