Chapter 37.1 - Xiao Lin your guts are really big 1

Qiao Yijing’s new drama was really held secretly.

Before, they’d only let out news that Su Bai would be the female lead.

The whole internet had gone into a frenzy.

Everyone was guessing whether or not Mu Cheng would be the male lead.

In this following month, Qiao Yijing’s weibo and Mu Cheng’s weibo was nearly exploding.

But there was no official answer.

Right until filming started did Qiao Yijing very calmly say who would be the male lead, female lead, second male lead and second female lead.

Apart from Mu Cheng and Su Bai, there was a newly rising little ‘fresh meat’ called Song Jinyan.

Mu Cheng and Su Bai’s fans all appeared underneath Qiao Yijing’s post.

At the first movie ceremony, Chief Ning, as an investor, very generously hosted ten tables.

The investors, assistant director, director and two leads all sat at the main table.

Tang Xiao, Xiao Lin and the rest squeezed in elsewhere.

The assistant director kept trying to get Chief Ning drunk, flattering him outrageously.

Chief Ning seemed a bit distracted as he kept looking at the neighbouring table.

When he saw Tang Xiao drink some white spirit, his whole face changed badly.

What kind of person was the assistant director?

In a single eye, he could tell that Chief Ning was paying attention to this Tang Xiao person!

Especially paying attention.

As long as the investor was happy, everything was ok.

He took a cup and walked towards Tang Xiao’s table.

“Miss Tang.” The assistant director was beaming.

Tang Xiao immediately stood up to give him a slight smile before shuddering a bit at the cup of wine.

After she drank, it was easy for her cause trouble.

This she knew, so she pretty much didn’t drink unless she was forced to.

“Miss Tang’s a main lead too! You should come sit at this table. Come, come, come to the main table, to the main table.” The assistant director straight forwardly dragged her chair over.

Tang Xiao was a bit confused about what was happening.

Xiao Lin bumped her arm and told her to look at Chief Ning.

Getting Chief Ning’s ok, she grabbed a bottle of white spirits to the main table.

The assistant director dragged the chair next to Chief Ning.

Tang Xiao felt like, if she st down, she’d probably have her whole body on Chief Ning.

She was silent and speechless.

Chief Ning slightly moved over, leaving out space for half a person.

Tang Xiao looked at him with immense gratitude.

The assistant director thought that was all good but who knew that Chief Ning was still looking over at the other table.

The assistant director followed his eyes and his heart thumped.

Chief Ning didn’t like this Tang Xiao!

It was her assistant?

Or was it the two of them???

Ferocious!

He followed the same method and dragged Xiao Lin’s chair over too, tightly leaning against Chief Ning’s other side.

Chief Ning: …..

Tang Xiao: ….

Xiao Lin: …..

Chief Ning could only move against Tang Xiao as the three people sat tightly together.

The atmosphere became strange, the whole table felt it.

Qiao Yijing looked at the assistant director speechlessly.

Su Bai and the others had a look of understanding.

Only Mu Cheng didn’t seem to understand.

“Miss Tang, we’d all paid our respects to Chief Ning, it’s up to you now.” The assistant director had the face of a ‘good wingman’.

“Miss Tang has a good alcohol tolerance! I saw that everyone’s drinking red wine but you’re drinking a bottle of white spirits. A true hero among women!”

Tang Xiao slowly digested ‘a true hero among women’.

Then she thought about the bottle of white spirits she bought.

Chief Ning’s temple twitched a few times.

He took over her bottle and poured himself a cup.

When Tang Xiao stood up, she leaned against the table and nudged her chair away a bit.

She thought the chair was especially heavy but who knew that with a single bump, it’d move over.

She looked down and saw that Mu Cheng had also stretched a leg over.

She looked at him thankfully.

“That Chief Ning, I’ll raise you a cup. I hope everything goes smoothly.” Without waiting for the assistant director, she knocked her cup against Chief Ning’s and drank the white spirit.

Chief Ning also lightly sipped some, understood and then drank it all.

“Thank you, everyone should eat.”

The big boss had said so so the whole table started to eat and drink.

The assistant director wanted to chat with Tang Xiao some more but her head was done and shovelling food into her mouth.

She ignored him.

So he could only turn around to talk to Su Bai.

“How much water did you add?” Chief Ning asked lowly.

Tang Xiao silently lifted up a single finger and swayed it.

“Didn’t add water?” Chief Ning raised a brow.

When he tried it, it was like drinking water.

“She didn’t add any white spirits, right?” Mu Cheng said the truth.

Tang Xiao sheepishly smiled.

The saying was right, youth was given to the drinking table but a lifetime of drunken stupor comes from drinking.

The assistant director seemed to be hell bent on getting Chief Ning drunk, using all different types of excuses to get Tang Xiao to offer alcohol to Chief Ning.

“Little Tang, chief Ning is your boss, you should offer him a cup.”

Tang Xiao: …..

Chief Ning: …..

“Little Tang, ah, Chief NIng really appreciates you! You’ll definitely get famous! You should offer him a cup.”

Tang Xiao: …..

Chief Ning: …..

He was afraid there wasn’t enough to drink si he grabbed another box of white spirits next to Tang Xiao.

Tang Xiao: …..

That bottle of water had already been finished.

The assistant director grinned as he opened a real bottle of white spirits.

Tang Xiao was so scared her eyelid was twitching.

“You guys have beef?” She lowered her voice and asked.

Chief Ning tried hard and thought, before firmly shaking his head.

“The only person I’ve ever offended is Qiao Yijing.”

“.... Then is it Qiao Yijing’s meaning?”

White spirit - China’s baijiu, it’s pretty high in alcohol, think of it as Chinese vodka.
