Chapter 123.1 - She’s injured

Lou Qingwu and Xiahou Qing went to a Qingyi building (restaurant/leisure building) not too far away from the third prince’s residence.

They went to a private room on the second floor, near the window.

Outside was the largest Huai river in the capital and because it wasn’t night time yet, there were a few leisure boats floating on the river, floating with the wind in a picturesque way.

It couldn’t be doubted that even though Xiahou Qing had left the capital for a few years, he still had a pulse on everything that happened within the capital.

Just from how he was about to choose this Qingyi building meant that you could see his intentions.

His choice was definitely made to curry favour with a young girl.

The cake was made of three colours, it smelled sweet, faintly of plum blossoms but on closer inspection, it also didn’t seem to be.

Lou Qingwu tried a bit, the moment she put it in her mouth, it melted.

Inside her mouth, the fragrance remained, it was definitely something of high quality.

She nodded and put down her chopsticks, smiling at him.

“It really is Qingyi building’s three coloured cake. To be able to capture the lotus seed’s lightness, the jujube’s exquisiteness and the wintersweet’s fragrance altogether, really made it something unforgettable.”

“Ha ha, as long as Qingwu likes it, it really wasn’t a waste of my time trying every single item on this restaurant’s menu.”

When Xiahou Qing spoke, he looked into Lou Qingwu’s eyes deeply.

His dark eyes were bright and reflected her, giving the feeling that he was truly only devoted to her and would only enchant her.

Lou Qingwu looked at him straightforwardly, her eyes gentle as she looked down when she heard him speak.

From Xiahou Qing’s angle, it was a young girl being bashful.

“How could the third prince have eaten everything here? Please don’t joke with Qingwu.”

Xiahou Qing’s eyes flashed arrogance as he purposely lowered his voice, making his voice even more pleasing to hear …

Lou Qingwu’s chest started to heave up and down, she’d overestimated her ability to restrain herself.

Right now, just hearing his voice made her want to smash the three coloured cake that she’d only taken one bite of, onto his face.

But she knew she couldn’t …

The cold and clear zither sound was like a clear fountain of water, washing away all of the impurities in her heart.

Lou Qingwu slowly calmed down.

When she raised her head up again, her small face was red as she quickly snuck a peek at Xiahou Qing before quickly turning away.

“How could I be so beautiful? Third prince is definitely joking.”

After she finished speaking, she seemed to have heard the zither sound again.

She quickly turned her head around to look outside the window, “Ah, it seems like someone’s playing the zither. It sounds beautiful, why don’t we go take a look?”
