Chapter 40.2 - Pink, pink, pink

“Let’s go first, if you’re worried … about Chief Ning, I’ll come accompany you after.” Mu Cheng paused.

Tang Xiao felt like he was holding back on something.

“I’m not worried about Chief Ning, I’m worried about my bed. QAQ.”

Mu Cheng comfortingly rubbed her head. “In a while, I’ll get the hotel to change you a new set.”

She followed him to his room.

Mu Cheng had a lot of scenes in his drama, so his script was huge and it was all from his own notes.

Some of the notes were where he should emphasis his voice during certain scenes, where his voice should go lower, higher, what tone would be best, what should the other characters be thinking at this time, etc, etc.

Tang Xiao looked at his pretty handwriting and sighed, Mu Cheng’s popularity really was well deserved.

Today, he’d gotten off work early so Mu Cheng took a shower before holding his laptop, “Wanna go online and play?”

It was 6pm in the afternoon and the sun was still a bit lazy, the warm sunlight was a bit orange-yellow.

Mu Cheng’s still wet hair hung on his head, near his ears.

He tilted his head as he slightly smiled at her.

His warm aura kept spreading out, nearly filling up the whole room.

“No, it’s hard for you to get off work early so you should probably memorise some lines. Or rest early!” Tang Xiao shook her head.

Mu Cheng didn’t think that she’d answer like that and coaxed her like he was coaxing a child, “I can still play with you a bit.”

Tang Xiao had never tried playing the game sitting next to a person, especially not with Mu Cheng next to her.

Su Muzhe seemed to have not been online for a while so the game update took a while.

“What round is the couples’ PK battle up to now?”

“The fifth round. I think they said to choose the top 10 in the server and then do a whole game battle. After the top sixteen groups are chosen, then they can go to H city.” Tang Xiao’s fingers quickly and nimbly hit the laptop.

Mu Cheng saw her beating up Yellow river flows on her screen.

Tang Xiao beamed as she turned around to face him.

Su Muzhe, was in a place where she could touch.

“Tang Xiao, can you hear me speaking?” Mu Cheng said.

Tang Xiao nodded her head hard.

“H city, hmm.” Mu Cheng thought for a bit.

“If it was a public battle, we can’t participate. Chief Ning at most, would let you play a bit.”

Tang Xiao quickly realised what he was saying.

If they were to participate, then Mu Cheng and her identities would be blown open.

That isn’t to say that actors couldn’t play games, but Tang poem and Su Muzhe were very high profile in the game, especially Tang poem.

Tang poem’s history especially, was very dark like piles of dark.

If that was blown out to the open, Chief Ning would probably rip her apart with his bare hands.

“But if you want to participate, it’s not like there aren’t ways.” Mu Cheng looked at her hesitant face.

“We’ll talk about it then, we won’t definitely make it to the top 16.”

A competition or whatever wasn’t really that important to Tang Xiao.

She just felt like Japanese rose and Ranzhi had put in a lot for this competition so if they didn’t participate, they’d probably be disappointed.

Mu Cheng hadn’t been online for a long time so it was like a suddenly reanimating zombie.

Ranzhi reanimated with him.

Mu Cheng quickly teleported to where she was.

Tang Xiao sat next to him and saw clearly his screen that was exactly like hers.

The whole gang brought their families and their mouths to ask.

Mu Cheng beat them all up and on the way, filled up the guild’s screen.

Mu Cheng found a place with beautiful views to stay online with Tang Xiao.

Tomorrow’s filming would be heavy and he had a lot of lines.

So one hand was on his computer and the other held his script book.

Tang Xiao watched Mu Cheng’s side profile for a long before getting caught by Mu Cheng.

Mu Cheng put down his script book, using a very helpless tone to say to her, “Tang Xiao, this is the fourth time I’ve caught you spacing out while staring at my face.”

Tang Xiao rubbed her face.

Being lovestruck was truly a sickness, she needed a cure.

“Then, what if I go see Chief Ning?”

“You’re worried?” Mu Cheng spoke calmly.

“It’s alright, I just want to see how it ends. It’s too hard to only listen to half the gossip.”

Her imagination had already filled up countless stories.

Like a love-kill relationship, or a I-love-you-but-you-don’t-love-me and then when you fell in love with me, I don’t love you anymore.

Her imagination was flying so hard that her face was about to be full of tears.

Mu Cheng looked at the time, “They should be nearly done. I’ll go with you?”

“No, no, I can go by myself. You should just memorise your lines~” Tang Xiao closed her laptop and happily ran away.

Gossip was calling her!

It really was calling her!

Seeing Chief Ning lose face - was calling her!

Mu Cheng watched her silhouette and was about to say something but he swallowed it back down before looking back at his script book.

From the very beginning, he just wanted to ask: What is your relationship with Chief Ning?
