Chapter 150.2 - Coming of age ceremony

Next to her, Lan Bai also watched dazedly before her mouth jerked to the side.

If it wasn’t for Lou Lianxin and Ruan Zhen being so awful, how could they have fallen so low?

Not too far away from the matron of honour and the procession, they hadn’t even reached the end of the street when they reached another procession of people.

A bright yellow palanquin with lots of guards around it, made the scene more intimidating.

They added a grander atmosphere, a stark contrast to Li Jingsheng’s procession.

Li Jingsheng also froze, his eyes flitting past the senior aides behind them as his heart nearly humped out.

They were actually the empress’ senior aides.

He seemed to have thought of something as he suddenly jumped off his horse, turning around to look at the Lou residence.

From afar, he saw a figure standing at the entrance, her dress swaying with the wind, like a painting.

When he turned back to look at the new bride in her palanquin, he instantly felt something heavy pressing against his chest.

As the two processions faced each other, they normally should’ve given way to the wedding procession.

However, the incoming procession was sent from the empress so he couldn’t force them to give away.

The Li family’s housekeeper gestured at Li Jingsheng who just waved his hands.

The housekeeper instantly understood Li Jingsheng’s order and turned around to organise it.

His eyes fell on the wedding palanquin, the contempt in his eyes was visible.

The two maidservants who would accompany Lou Lianxin into marriage, Dongshuang and Dongxue, saw this and quickly turned to face each other, seeing gloom in each other’s eyes.

It seemed like their second miss wouldn’t be doted on when she entered the Li residence.

This new master didn’t seem to care at all about their second miss, after all, if their procession gives way, doesn’t that mean that the second miss isn’t as good as ….

The wedding palanquin suddenly jerked to a stop and moved towards another direction.

Lou Lianxin’s face underneath her wedding veil suddenly scrunched up.

She asked the two people outside, “What’s happening outside?”

“Ah, no-nothing. We’re just going from another side, miss, just sit down carefully.” Not wanting Lou Lianxin to know, Dongshuang and Dongxue faced each other before trying to hide the truth.

Lou Lianxin had been so overbearing at the Lou residence for so long, how could she not hear the strangeness in their words?

She lifted up a curtain to take a look and just happened to see a flash of bright yellow sway past.

She instantly felt her heart drop, only hating that she couldn’t spit out blood.

Today was the day of her marriage, as well as the day of Lou Qingwu’s coming of age ceremony.

But just as she was downtrodden and marrying out like this, Lou Qingwu was being taken into the palace to do her coming of age ceremony?

This difference made Lou Lianxin burst with jealousy, only hating that she couldn’t jump ahead and destroy Lou Qingwu.

“Lou Qingwu …”

One of us must die!

And what made her even more heartbroken, was Li Jingsheng’s attitude.

She gripped her handkerchief tightly.

If they weren’t going to treat her right, then they shouldn’t blame he for messing up the Li family to the point where even the dogs and chickens can’t rest peacefully!

If she can’t live well, then neither can they!

Lou Qingwu originally wanted to turn around but Lan Bai’s eyes were sharp and spotted the palanquin sent by the palace.

“Master! The people from the palace are here!”

“En?” Lou Qingwu froze before seeing that bright yellow as well.

Her eyes suddenly narrowed, it seemed like the emperor did listen to consort Ying’s words.

She turned around and stood upright at the entrance of the Lou residence.

Lou Qingwu was picked up and sent directly to Kunning palace.

The empress’ meaning was that she was pitying the fact that she had no mother from a young age, and would treat her as her own.

The people from the palace quickly left as the Lou residence instantly emptied.

The crowds watching also dispersed.

A figure in bright red then appeared from a dark corner.

She stood tall and was slender, her outfit was eye catching and exotic which made it even more interesting to look at.

The bells on her wrists and ankles were also attractive.

Ye Ji’s eyes fell on the bright yellow palanquin as her mouth curled up in a mocking smile, her eyes also curving into charming crescents.

But Ye Ji’s eyes didn’t have the slightest hint of laughter, only vivid disgust.

If Lou Qingwu entered the palace, then … what would wait her would be the depth of the palace, hiding amongst the three thousand beauties of the back chambers.

Dying of loneliness at an old age.

And then her brother Ye will be hers!

She looked back deeply at the Lou residence before turning around and leaving gracefully.
