Chapter 161.1 - Cancel the marriage engagement

“Master, why didn’t you tell Miss Lou about your injuries?” Feng Yi didn’t understand.
His master could clearly use this opportunity to get closer to Miss Lou.
After all, Miss Lou did seem to care about his master.
Even though Miss Lou looked cold on the surface, just from seeing how she compromises time after time, to his master, it could be seen that she did like him, at least, bit.
Feng Yege froze, pausing, before lightly saying, “I’m scared she’d be worried.”
If it was just a small injury, he wouldn’t mind using it as a tool to gain her pity.
But if it was an injury this big, he didn’t want her to be upset over this.
In just one eye, you could see that this wound wasn’t something an ordinary person could make.
According to her personality, she’d definitely try to investigate and get to the bottom of it.
But her heart already had so many other things, she was already so burdened.
How could he let her be saddled with even more things to worry about?
“Put on the medicine.”
“Yes.” Feng Yi didn’t ask again. He couldn’t guess his master’s thoughts every single time.
But, if Miss Lou saw such a serious injury, she’d probably be very worried.
Feng Yi seriously put on the medicine and grabbed a new piece of bandage.
But just as he did, the door burst open hard.
It slammed against the wall, making Feng Yege lift up his head and his eyes narrowed.
Zi Li didn’t think that she’d walk into this scene and froze.
She looked dazedly at the wound on his chest and seemed to deflate instantly.
Her lips moved a bit before mumbling and lowering her head, “Brother … I’m sorry ... “
Feng Yege’s pupils shrunk, “Don’t let me hear that phrase again.”
Zi Li’s small face paled before mumbling and lowering her head in disappoint, “Yes … I know.”
Was he still unable to forgive them?
But he was already willing to rescue her so why was he still so stubborn and unable to forgive them for that other thing?
Feng Yege looked away, “Bandage.”
“Ah? Oh, oh, okay!” Feng Yi finally reacted and carefully used a new piece of bandage to bandage Feng Yege’s knife wound.
He didn’t think that Zi Li would be so brave, to call Feng Yege her ‘brother’ in front of his face.
This was clearly a forbidden zone for his master.
He slowly pulled on his clothes before standing up.
Feng Yege sat back on his couch, his cold aura suppressing the whole room, making the other two almost unable to breathe.
“Feng Yi, you can first leave.”
“Yes.” Feng Yi respectfully bowed and left the room, considerately closing the door behind him.
Inside the room, there was only Feng Yege and Zi Li left.
She felt like she couldn’t breathe, her body was still weak from the poison that she swallowed so as she stood, she felt a bit dizzy.
She looked at Feng Yege pitifully, her eyes teary like an abandoned little puppy. “Feng Yege …”
“Find a place to sit down.” Feng Yege didn’t look at her, “What do you want from me?”

“Did you mean what you just said?”
She pulled a chair out and sat down, unable to help but blurt out her question.
She even used her life as a bet, just so he could promise to help her.
As long as he was willing to speak for her, her father definitely would change his mind.
Fenge Yege silently picked up a book, and casually flipped to a page, “Of course I mean what I say.”
“Then you’ll help me and talk to my dad?” Zi Li’s eyes lit up.
Feng Yege looked at her coldly, “I agreed to help you but I’ll only help you avoid the people who want to capture you. If you want to cancel your marriage engagement, you can talk to your father yourself.”
“Feng Yege!” Zi Li’s face immediately changed.
“Only you can help me! I don’t want to marry that person, you clearly know the person I like … is …”
“But he doesn’t like you.” Feng Yege calmly spoke the truth.

Blunt. But that does get his point across, if only the other party would listen and I don't mean just in one ear, out the other because Zu Li seems like the type. The guy has already helped her out of misplaced obligation or maybe it is repayment of some sort to her old man, but Zu Li seems to think it's a way to wiggle her way into his life. Seriously. I admire her tenacity, but not to the point of stupidity. There's a limit to how much you can pester someone who's already said 'no'. If it were a guy, I'm sure Zu Li would have maimed, castrated or killed him. I just hope she'd use her brain and realize that there's no point. Gah! (Sorry... had experience with girls like that towards some of my male friends to the point that I get dragged into the girls' dramas, because, you know, they think men and women can't just be friends, and I had a headache just thinking about it. *le sighs*)

Zi Li is the most ridiculously irrational person in this novel and I absolutely hate her for it. She's incredibly selfish and doesn't consider that her actions might even impact other people. She really only thinks of herself and it's going to be a hellish ride in later chapters. There's even a point where she almost breaks up Feng Yege and LQW's marriage because she's trying to save herself 😷😷

It was implied in previous chapters that he took the wound for Zi Li because she mentions that he's even willing to save her, which might be part of the reason why Feng Yege hid the wound from LQW 😩😩
