Chapter 165.2 - His fury

But her voice was mocking and harsh, “Then that’s for the best.”

She watched Feng Yege’s figure suddenly stiffen and stop.

But in the next moment, his figure instantly disappeared in front of her, only leaving the door slamming in her face.

Lou Qingwu used her palms to press against the table, steadying herself.

She looked down to hide the regret and apologies in her eyes, I’m sorry …

She personally pushed herself into this dilemma with no exit in sight, and this was the only way to make Feng Yege let go.

“Master?” The door suddenly opened again.

Lan Bai heard sounds and instantly rushed over.

But when she only saw Lou Qingwu, she froze before being unable to help but shout out.

“En?” Lou Qingwu turned to the side before half a moment, facing Lan Bai again.

She almost dismissively waved a hand, “Why are you awake?”

“I heard a loud thud and I was scared master … master, are you okay?”

Lou Qingwu’s emotions were too strange so Lan Bai couldn’t help but quietly ask again.

She’d originally thought her master was a bit strange today so when she left, she was still unable to feel at east.

So she didn’t sleep at all.

But when she suddenly heard noises from her master's room, she rushed over and just saw that scene.

When her eyes turned to the side, she suddenly saw the bloodstain on the wall, and froze, “Master, this blood …”

“It’s not mine.”

Lou Qingwu stood calmly, her back facing Lan Bai.

Her eyes fell on the clear bloodstain on the wall as her fingers curled tightly into a fist, “Lan Bai, get me some clean water and a cloth.”

“Ah, okay? Wait, master, what do you need that for?”

“Just get it to me quickly.”

“...Okay.” Lan Bai replied before quickly getting what Lou Qingwu wanted.

Then she was asked to retreat by Lou Qingwu.

She uneasily took a few steps backward before not seeing anything else strange on Lou Qingwu’s face.

Then she could only leave, closing the door behind her.

But just as she was about to leave, she froze.

When she came, the door was open and master said the blood wasn’t hers, so whose blood was it?

Her mind suddenly flashed to a figure before she shook her head hard.

It definitely couldn't have been the Night Prince.

According to her master’s personality, she definitely wouldn’t let anyone she cared about, get hurt.

So who could it have been?

Lan Bai brought even more questions with her back to her room.

It was a sleepless night as she watched Lou Qingwu’s room from her window.

She suddenly realised that Lou Qingwu’s candle hadn’t been extinguished all night.

Lou Qingwu calmly looked at the water in front of her.

She wet the cloth as she headed to the wall, silently standing in front of the blood stain.

Then she concentrated on slowly wiping the blood away, bit by bit.

The wall was originally snow white and was quickly dirtied by the blood.

The blood red slowly became paler until all was left was a wet sheen.

Apart from the wet patch, there would’ve been no evidence that someone had angrily used their fist to punch the wall and that there were blood splatters as result.

As she wiped it, it was like wiping away the last gentle parts of her heart.

Until the very end, when Lou Qingwu dunked the cloth back inside the water, the water became rippled and reflected a blurry Lou Qingwu.

She sighed, not speaking.

In the next two days, she hadn’t heard about Feng Yege at all.

It was like when she’d retreated back into her shell, rejecting all questions from everyone.

The Li residence, after that night was uncharacteristically quiet too.

But even then, there were rumours spreading around about the night of the second Li gentleman’s wedding.

There were rumours about ghosts demanding the lives of people, that people were killed and it was a bloody night that lots of people saw.
