Chapter 45.2 - Sold into prostitution

Lou Qingwu lowered her eyes and was silent for a moment before she spoke, “Back then, the person she married might’ve been the problem.”

Otherwise, she definitely wouldn’t believe that someone would willingly be sold into prostitution.

Furthermore, from how sickness ravaged her body was, it should’ve been from a few years ago.

Or maybe it could be from the beginning.

But what was her aim in coming to the capital?

Her mind flashed to the scene back in front of the embroidery store’s shopkeeper, the hatred and despair in her eyes when the shopkeeper spoke to her.

Then, who did she hate? What happened back then to change her to the way she was now?

There was a possibility that getting to the bottom of this would be the way to finding Mu Yunqing’s weakness.

Su Sheng woke up two days later.

Little Bell went and found Lou Qingwu, saying that Su Sheng wanted to thank her.

Lou Qingwu followed Little Bell to Su Sheng’s side wing and when she stepped through the doorway, her nose was assaulted with the smells of medicinal herbs.

As she walked through, she picked up the already ready soup on her way and passed it to Su Sheng.

The girl was lying against the couch and when she saw Lou Qingwu, struggled to sit up.

“Miss, Miss Lou, I will never forget your favour, even if I lose my teeth to old age. In the next life, I’ll do anything to repay it.”

Lou Qingwu looked at her and lightly sighed.

She watched her finish the soup and then collected the medicinal bowl back, passing her a handkerchief on the way.

The girl received it and slowly wiped away the remnants on her mouth.

But suddenly, the girl lifted up the silk blanket covering her body, struggled to get up and knelt in front of Lou Qingwu.

Lou Qingwu furrowed her brows, looked at the girl and bringing a hint of probing, “You, what are you doing?”

“Miss Lou, please help me.”

“I’ll try my hardest to heal your sickness.”

“No, I’m not talking about my sickness. I’m clear about my body, it’s already nearly empty and I won’t have long to live. Even if it can be healed, I’ve already wanted to die since about six years ago.”

The girl lowered her lids, her hands were white from struggling to prop her up.

There was even fine sweat appearing on her brow as her eyes started to redden, and she tried hard to restrain herself from dropping tears.

This was her last chance.

When she woke up and Little Bell told her Lou Qingwu’s identity, as well as piecing together what she’d heard from the capital, she knew that this was her last chance.

If she missed this chance, it’d be too impossible to take revenge.

“I’m begging Miss Lou to help me, no matter it takes, Wan’er will agree to it.”

“Wan’er?” Lou Qingwu stepped forward to help her up, helping her up to sit down.

“Aren’t you Su Sheng?”

The girl heard that name and her body suddenly stiffened.

In half a moment, she laughed bitterly, despairingly, “Miss Lou, you should just call me Wan’er. Su Sheng, six years ago, had already died.”

She had died in a web of lies, forever unable to turn her life around.

She hadn’t seen wrongly, this Lou family’s eldest miss who had just come back to the capital definitely wasn’t an ordinary person.

It wasn’t a waste of her time to spend so many days waiting around the outside of the Lou residence.

Lou Qingwu’s darkened face was expressionless, only after a while did she open her mouth, “How do you want me to help you?”

Su Sheng gripped her two hands together, her knuckles so tight that they were about to pop out.

She grit her teeth, “Send me to in front of Mu Yunqing, I want to kill him myself.”
