Chapter 76.2 - Appropriate retribution

After the two people changed into the outfits, they left the underground market and came outside to the carriage that Feng Yege had prepared earlier for them.

Lou Qingwu and Lan Bai got on and then ordered the driver to take them to a tea house.

When they sat down and steadied themselves, Lan Bai couldn’t help but ask, “Master, what are we doing at the tea house?”

Master was actually bringing such expensive items that were won at the underground auction to such a  messy place like a tea house?

That, was really strange.

Lou Qingwu didn’t plan on hiding anything from her.

“We need to see someone and his little brother’s very interested in street stall gossip. Every day, he’d be there so to see that person, we’ll have to wait there for him.”

“That way, ah.” So she hadn’t made an appointment?

But she only had to follow what master said.

For the rest of the way, Lan Bai didn’t say anything else.

The carriage made its way through the busy streets before stopping at the largest tea house in the capital.

They got off the hose carriage and walked down, Lan Bai gripped the two boxes against her chest tightly.

She’d changed into a male outfit so she took down her face veil as well, revealing a delicate and pretty face that hadn’t matured yet.

She looked very young and when she stood with Lou Qingwu, they just looked like two handsome boys with red lips and white teeth.

Bypassers couldn’t help but do double takes at them.

Aware of the looks from all sides, Lan Bai glared at them hatefully.

Then she swaggered behind Lou Qingwu into the tea house.

When she saw a server, she coughed and made her voice deeper and hoarse.

“Quickly go prepare a room for us.”

The server immediately replied and led them them to the second floor of the tea house and into a private room.

When they sat down, Lou Qingwu picked at the pearl curtain that separated the private room and the rest of the tea house.

For the sake of conveniently listening to the storyteller, the tea house had purposelly designed the rooms like this.

Once the pearl curtain was lifted up, the people in the private rooms on the second floor could see outside, but those on the outside, couldn’t see inside.

This was convenient for those nobles and officials who came here, but didn’t want their identities to be revealed.

After all, this teahouse was the type of place where all sorts of people congregated, but was also the place where the news flowed the quickest.

She put down the pearl curtain as Lou Qingwu walked towards the table again.

She sat down as her mind turned and spun.

In her past lifetime, she’d only heard that Xiahou Rui and Xiahou Liuyun enjoyed coming to this place at this time, but she didn’t really know where they would be specifically.

So how could she get Xiahou Rui to appear?

A crisp sound rang from the first floor, it was the opening remarks from the storyteller.

Lou Qingwu lifted her eyes and listened carefully.

Lan Bai sat to her side, propping her chin on her heads as she swayed her head.

From the moment she’d been sold into the underground market, her whole body had been tense.

Today, she’d finally let it all go and her young and playful nature exploded forward.

Her ears pointed up as she heard the sounds from outside.

The storyteller spoke as the crowds immediately cheered, “Good! Quickly, speak, what sort of secret gossip is it?”

“Right, it’s been a while since we’ve heard any dirty gossip. Could it be worse than the Lou family’s second miss’? Hahaha …”

“You’re talking about that second miss who slept with someone, pfft, you don’t even know. Her, for the sake of proving her innocence, even shamelessly said that her legitimate sister framed her. Bah! Knowing that she’d framed her sister three years ago, that black heart, this time, it’s retribution! She deserves it!”

“Deserves it! As if we’d just believe everything she said!”

“..........”

The crowds had started speaking above him to the point where the storyteller was about to get anxious.

Was this his time to speak or their time to speak?

But these were all noble guests, so he didn’t dare to interrupt them.

As he got more anxious, sweat started dripping down from his forehead …

At this time, an angry voice suddenly sounded out, “Are you guys saying the truth?”
