Chapter 86.2 - Snatching the prize

Seeing Shangguan Yiyun stand up, the originally cold faced consort Ying’s eyes lit up.

She smirked at Lou Qingwu and Xiahou Rui as her eyes moved between them.

Some kind of emotion bubbled in her eyes before quickly disappearing.

Lou Qingwu had heard of this Shangguan Yiyun before but because in the previous last lifetime, Xiahou Rui had been exiled to his fiefdom early on, she didn’t know this second prince’s consort very well.

The empress’ brows furrowed, but didn’t reply to Xiahou Rui.

She only made her senior aide come back.

At this time, Shangguan Yiyun finished playing and bowed deeply.

The empress immediately waved her hands, “It’s hard to see such a beautiful person. Li senior aide, bestow my ruyi scepter to Miss Shangguan.”

Li senior aide, “Yes, empress.”

Shangguan Yiyun froze for a moment before quickly regaining her composure, bending at the knees, “Thank you, empress.”

When she finished speaking, she stood up from her position to walk towards the stage.

She turned around to look at Shangguan Yiyun, “Miss Shangguan, could I use your zither?”

Shangguan Yiyun lifted up her head strangely, “Of … course.”

Lou Qingwu: “Thank you.”

Then Lou Qingwu stepped towards the seven stringed zither before lifting up her sleeves and sitting cross legged in front of it.

The empress watched from high above, silently sighed.

This child was good, but it was a pity that that happened three years ago.

She couldn’t let her son be burdened and potentially renounced in the future because of that.

So she could be a concubine, but she wouldn’t be appropriate for the position of consort.

But Rui’er’s gaze on her was too clear, so she couldn’t help but warn her.

She could only strike on that child instead.

Xiahou Rui’s face was tense and tight as he looked at Lou Qingwu, hoping that she could give everyone a surprise.
