Feng Yege finished a song and placed his hands back.

He lifted up his head to see a dazed Lou Qingwu, his lips unable to help but smile, “Did you see Xiahou Rui today?”

“En?” Lou Qingwu returned to her senses and only then did she realised that she’d been staring at him.

She felt a bit uncomfortable.

Finally reacting to what he said, she nodded and then froze, “How did you know?”

“You took Su Yi’s painting and Youli sword so you were obviously going to see him. What did he have to say?”

“He didn’t say anything extra, but Lan Bai and the seventh prince’s interactions were quite ‘harmonious’.”

Thinking about Lan Bai and Xiahou Liuyun’s mutual hate for each other, Lou Qingwu shook her head.

She didn’t tell Lan Bai about his identity and because of that, she didn’t have to be wary of his identity when she interacted with him.

Xiahou Liuyun didn’t care for those formalities so he wouldn’t care and this way, Lan Bai wouldn’t have to feel burdened when she was with him.

She liked seeing a vibrant and active Lan Bai.

This way, she’d forget about her bloodied past life and the grief that always lurked in the bottom of her eyes.

“Lan Bai? The female slave that you just bought?”

When he came back, he heard Shiyi say that she bought a female slave and when they went off to the tea house, Shiyi went to investigate the slave’s background.

Even though her identity was a bit special, she did indeed have a clean background.

If she wanted to keep her, it’d be fine.

“Yes, she’s … very special.”

Lou Qingwu actually wanted to tell Feng Yege about the trust she had in Lan Bai but when she opened her mouth, she didn’t know what to say.

Feng Yege knew that her heart held many secrets and if she didn’t want to say, he wouldn’t force her.

Otherwise, he was scared that his overbearing nature would force her to keep her distance from him.

This possibility, would be impossible for him to bear.

He’d rather that they kept their current senior-junior relationship, and that was why he tried to hard back then, for them to have this layer of relationship.

It was only this way that she wouldn’t keep her distance, despite his identity as the Night Prince.

Feng Yege looked at the girl who stood like green bamboo underneath the moonlight, unable to help but sigh inside, when, when would the grief in her eyes disappear?

Lou Qingwu stayed at the his residence for two more days and before the meditative Buddhist temple affair happened, brought Lan Bai back to the Lou residence.

But just as she returned to the Leaning Wind Pavilion, Lou Qufeng had just received news and rushed over.

Behind him, was an equally dark faced Ruan Zhen.

When she saw her, her eyes nearly spit fire.

Lou Qingwu just acted as if she didn’t see it and told Lan Bai to boil some tea before personally passing it over in front of them.

“Father, second mother, please drink tea.”

Lou Qufeng coldly snorted, still angry about her rejection from two days ago.

“Now you know to come back?”

To actually leave when she said to leave, and to leave for two days?

She’d really grown wings, to even go against him!

Lou Qingwu lowered her eyes, hiding the coldness that flashed through her eyes.

She stood to the side, her bright eyes gently glancing over, softly and gently speaking, “This is your daughter’s house, if I don’t come back here, where else can I go?”

Her voice wasn’t high, instead, her  soft and sticky brought a small thread of bleakness.

Lou Qufeng froze for  a moment, looking at Lou Qingwu’s gentle and weak profile, that perfectly small face made him suddenly think of her mother.

He thought for a moment, she indeed didn’t do anything that was incredibly sinful, nothing worthy of a large punishment.

He was a bit too much.

This affair originally wasn’t related to her, and in a way, she’d suffered harm too.

However, because of Lian’er’s affair, her scandal had spread far and wide.

Even in the palace court, he’d gotten a lot of scathing remarks and mocking comments.

Even if they didn’t say it to his face, their meanings were clear and made his old face uncomfortable.

When he came back, he also had to listen to the second madam cry and howl.

He was already annoyed to death so when he just received news that she came back, all of that repressed anger was added up.

* rejection from two days ago = when Lou Qufeng asked LQW to take the blame for Lou Lianxin and admit that she schemed for LLX to get into Li Jingsheng’s bed.

Deep down, Feng Yege’s just super insecure and scared that LQW’s going to leave him :(
