Zhou Chengtian could only laugh hollowly, “That … ah ha ha ha.”
But when his eyes fell on Lou Qingwu, his smile couldn’t help but become slightly bigger, there was one right here?
This really made him stuck between a hard place and a rock so he could only continue forwards.
He forcefully slammed down his hammer again, “Who is below the stage, report your name.”
Lou Qingwu: “This girl is Lou Qingwu, the left prime minister’s eldest daughter.”
Li Xiangluan: “This official madam is Li Xiangluan, the justice department’s Mu Yunqing’s wife.”
Li Xiangluan: “This official madam is Li Xiangluan, the justice department’s Mu Yunqing’s wife.”
Mu Yunqing’s expression was a bit wooden as his handsome face was completely pale from blood loss.
His chest was still wrapped in white gauze as he could only barely stand up with the help of a servant.
After half a day, his thin lips finally moved, his voice was light, “Justice department’s young official, Mu Yunqing.”
Zhou Chengtian let out a relieved breath before carefully taking a peek at Li Miao.
Seeing that he had no reaction, then coughed before continuing, “Lou Qingwu, please repeat the reasons for your case.”
Lou Qingwu lifted up her head, her eyes deep as they gave off a sinister feeling.
“This girl is here to report the right prime minister’s eldest daughter Li Xiangluan’s three large offences!”
Li Xiangluan heard this and her eyes instantly coldened as she whipped her head towards Lou Qingwu who stood to her side.
Mu Yunqing seemed to not hear a thing, his expression weakly as he furrowed his brows, only looking calmly ahead.
Zhou Chengtian: “What three large offences, please speak.”
Lou Qingwu seemed to not have noticed Li Xiangluan’s eyes on her as she spoke clearly and forcefully, “ … The first, selling an honest woman, the second, forcing her into prostitution, the third, bribing the justice department’s Zong Ping to mete out private punishment and causing a violent death.”

Once she finished speaking, everyone instantly turned towards her.
Li Xiangluan’s eyes flashed panic, Li Miao furrowed his brows as Li Jingsheng looked at her with a complicated expression.
But Mu Yunqing’s expression was still dull and weakly, like he was half dead.
When people looked at him, he just looked like a wooden puppet.
Zhou Chengtian sneakily wiped away some forehead sweat, wondering what hornet’s nest did he poke at, to provoke this many hard to defeat people.
But someone was here to ask for justice so as one part of the Ministry of Justice, he still had to investigate the case.
“Cough, cough, then who, who is the deceased.”
Even though he knew, he still had to follow procedure and ask again.
Even though he knew, he still had to follow procedure and ask again.
Lou Qingwu lowered her eyes again before lifting up her head again, but this time, looking at Mu Yunqing.
She spoke slowly, “The deceased … is Jiangyin, Su family’s daughter Su Sheng, also Mu young official’s fiancee from six years ago.”
Because she was staring straight at Mu Yunqing, she clearly saw his weak and almost dead expression eyes instantly stiffen and change to disbelief, before almost becoming frenzied and crazy.

He ferociously turned to Lou Qingwu, his low hoarse voice bringing panic, “What did you say? Sheng’er died?”
Seeing this type of Mu Yunqing, Lou Qingwu’s fists tightened before forcing her face to not show any emotions.
“Yes, Su Sheng’s already dead. Or did madam Mu not tell you, that after Su Sheng stabbed you, she threw her into the justice department’s jail, then sent people over night to whip her until she died?”
Mu Yunqing’s body started to sway as he looked as if he was about to breakdown.
He forced himself to look at the calm Li Xiangluan, “Didn’t you tell me you sent her away? Why did she die? Li Xiangluan, what did do exactly? Before I fainted, what did you promise me? You said you’d let her go! This is how you let her go well?”
Li Xiangluan hatefully bit down her tongue to calm herself down, “Yunqing, I didn’t do it.”
“Oh really?” Lou QIngwu coldly looked at her before turning around and walking towards the stage.

She slowly lifted up the white cloth on Su Sheng’s face.
“Then do you recognise this face?”
The bloodied and stained corpse appeared in front of everyone’s eyes.
The originally calm right prime minister Li Miao suddenly sat up straight as Li Jingsheng furrowed his brows at Li Xiangluan.
His eldest sister killed that woman?

ReplyDeleteNot really sure how I feel about all this nonsense right now :/ I liked Su Sheng's tragic background a lot and was hoping for something nice for her.
Mu Yunqing seems to be mostly dead as well and is now married to the person who caused the death of his fiancee, he might have nothing to answer for, but with the misunderstanding cause by his wife, is it fair to say he's fully free of blame for this scenario? Being frank, I'm not sure myself. It feels wrong to blame him, but at the same time, as I've alluded to before, Mu Yunqing should have talked with Su Sheng and learned more about what happened. At the same time, I don't know if he was just waiting for her to open up.
... regardless, the die has been cast so the question is what sort of play are we going to watch?
Having Mu Yunqing live in eternal agony and Li Xiangluan lose the love of her life is probably as sweet as it'll get for Su Sheng. It would've been too unrealistic for them to get a happily ever after. He did end up marrying the woman who sold her into prostitution, forced her to lose her body to countless men, resulting in a disfigured face and permanently broken legs - until Feng Yege. Even if Su Sheng was able to temporarily be bewitched by Mu Yunqing, they'd still be uncomfortable with each other.
DeleteMu Yunqing's not dead yet and won't be dead for a while. There were just too many obstacles for them both and they probably just wanted to put everything behind them. Mu Yunqing would've been deliriously happy that his childhood sweetheart came back to his life and would Su Sheng have wanted to tell him about her life as a prostitute? Even if Mu Yunqing wanted to ask, I think Su Sheng would've just lied to him about her past because no guy would want to know that the love his life underwent what Su Sheng did, all for the sake of being able to stay alive (to kill him for revenge) 😔😔
:( I suppose when put that way, that's about as good as it gets indeed....
DeleteThis arc's nearly ending so we'll see how it goes 🤗🤗
DeleteIf he asked, SS would be suspicious of a foul play and tell LQW to investigate for her and SS could live a bit longer.
