TFDC Chapter 92.2

Chapter 92.2 - Dead or alive

He was tall and imposing, Zong Ping lowered his head and didn’t dare to look.

He could only use the corner of his eyes to look at Feng Yege before seeing a person step out from behind him.

When she stepped out, Feng Yege slightly lowered himself to help her out.

Zong Ping was so frightened his throat felt tight.

Could it be that there was someone even higher than the Night Prince?

But apart from the emperor, empress or the empress dowager, who could be higher than them?

He couldn’t stop his curiosity and sneakily took a peak.

But when he saw the girl’s face, he froze for a second, wasn’t that the Lou family’s eldest miss Lou Qingwu?

He went to the left prime minister’s birthday banquet too, so he was also present when the Lou family’s second miss was caught in bed with someone.

At that time, he’d seen the eldest miss, but why was she together with the Night Prince?

Thinking of the rumours that had been spreading not too long ago, he shuddered.

Could it be … the rumours were true?

The Night Prince actually looked upon this Lou family’s eldest miss?

At the same time, his face became even more deferential, almost lackey-like, “Hello, Miss Lou.”

Lou Qingwu found it strange that Zong Ping recognised her, but this wasn’t important.

She looked at the justice department’s large stone doors and then towards Feng Yege.

The latter was soothing her head.

Lan Bai and a disguised Thousand face who was wearing a normal servant’s outfit, stood behind Lou Qingwu.

Seeing this group of people, the justice department’s Zong Ping wondered, did something big happen today?

“I, I don’t know why the Night Prince has come today, is there something wrong?”

Feng Yege stood lazily, not speaking at all but used his imposing aura to glance at him.

“I heard, that the Mu residence sent over a girl yesterday?”

The justice department’s official froze, and suddenly started feeling uneasy.

Yesterday, there was a girl who was sent over in the middle of the night.

The right prime minister’s eldest miss Li sent her and specifically told them to “take good care” of her.

But now, the Night Prince was asking for her, so, could it be that he’s asking about the same girl?

But that girl tried to assassinate Mu young official, so the Night Prince … didn’t have that good of a relationship with him, did he?

But suddenly, he thought of something.

The girl that got sent here seemed … a bit familiar.

He thought carefully for a moment before suddenly realising that the girl was the one that Mu young official took from the birthday banquet, and was supposedly … supposedly … this Miss Lou’s maidservant?

Damn it!

“Night, Night Prince, indeed.”

The justice department’s official wiped away some more sweat that was beading at his forehead and started praying that his subordinates hadn’t moved a hand on the girl.

Or otherwise …

He was afraid that he might just die here!

If that girl was Miss Lou’s person, and Miss Lou was the Night Prince’s ….

Wasn’t he just plucking at a tiger’s whisker right now, asking for death?

Feng Yege glanced at his guilty face, his eyes freezing over, “What crime did that girl offend?”

The official: “That, she tried to assassinate Mu, Mu young official.”

Feng Yege coldly swept him with his eyes, “Then you think that Miss Lou’s people would really assassinate Mu young official?”

The justice department official heard this and was completely dumbstruck.

If he said yes, that wasn’t right but if he said no, that wasn't right either.

Originally, he hadn’t had the time to investigate properly and only followed through based on the Miss Li’s word to throw her into jail.

But he was just a third grade official, so how could he offend anyone?

So even in his current position, he didn’t dare to say a single phrase that would anger the Night Prince.

He shook his head, “Of course not! How could that be?”

Feng Yege narrowed his eyes, “Then in the case, if you hadn’t investigated properly, this prince will take her away. That shouldn’t … be a problem, should it?”

The justice department’s official’s heart ba-dumped, the Night Prince was here for that girl?

He was toast!

“That, of course.”

“Then why aren’t you going to get her yet?!”

His icy cold voice exerted more pressure on him, the official’s body was shaking all over.

He quickly agreed, “Yes, Night Prince … this way, please.”

When he turned around, he quickly made eyes at his confidante: Quickly go see if anyone’s made a move on her?

His confidante saw and sneakily retreated, quickly running through another passage to go see.

TL note:

So many abuses of power. I guess it’s like this in real life too.

(I'm reading a novel right now where the protagonist is a professional side character so I've got a lot more pity for side characters and less pity for unreasonable main leads.)

Leave a comment and follow to see how poor Su Sheng’s doing xx

  1. that wasn't gith either. -> uh. not sure what's supposed to be there, but I don't think it's gith. xD

Side characters nearly always get the shaft in novels >_<; It's especially bad in CN novels since a lot of them revolve around breaking into "new terrain" that hasn't or is rarely explored, most of the time, those side characters are then left behind and picked up like several hundred chapters later and only as a sidenote or being in trouble, depending on the author...

I still don't see Su Sheng, I hope she's okay but I don't think she is D: Even if she is, if My Yunqing is in too much trouble too, that's bad >_<; aahhhhhh

    1. Side characters always get the shaft unless it's a main character playing the role of a side character or is the main character's best friend. Su Sheng's arc gets resolved and then they don't reappear ever again (because you'll need an ouija board otherwise HA.)

They'll see Su Sheng's tomorrow and yup, assassinating a guy and getting caught red handed isn't the best way to go 😣😭😭
